The Web River has pages for the following BC Secondary (Gr. 8-12) courses

The BC Ministry of Education has curriculum guides for all courses.  Most of BC's curriculum is under extensive review and will soon be updated. Much of this work is open for all to see, including feedback, and can be viewed at https://curriculum.gov.bc.ca/. There will be some chaos in BC Education while this changes take place. Hopefully the Web River can keep up and help connect the old and new lands that curriculum explores.

Social Studies 11

Exploring Canadian Identity from World War One to the Present. What defines us? How did we change in response to remarkable events in the 20th Century? What does it mean to be a citizen? Why bother voting?

Social Studies 10

​Why Canada? How does our country evolve from a collection of cultures, colonies, and internal conflicts to become a nation? To whom does the story of Canada belong?

​The "new" SS10 will be similar to the existing SS11

Social Studies 9

:Was: Canada's First Peoples, early settlement of Canada, British and French presence and conflict in North America plus their "backstories" in Europe.

Will be: (new curriculum) - Some of the same topics, plus most of the topics from Social Studies 10, and increased emphasis on critical thinking and interpretation of evidence
